Design should result in a sensorial experience, and a moment to remove oneself from reality into a fantastical realm.
The fun part of designing is weaving all of the senses together where a memory becomes tied to a space. It’s enjoying a biscotti and a nutty espresso, sitting on a soft tweed upholstered vintage lounge chair while the floor boards creak from the footsteps of friends. It’s the way the light travels through a room and illuminates the patinaed brass hinges of a door, framed by hand-applied intricate moldings that dance off of a polished plaster wall. I chase the romantic narrative and fall in love with the storytelling.
